As a cleaning operative, you will carry out sub-contracted cleaning work on a self-employed basis. You’ll need a clear enhanced DBS certificate. If you don’t have one, we’ll work with you to arrange obtaining a certificate.

This role involves mobile working. You must possess at least 2 years’ experience in the cleaning of commercial and industrial buildings. Experience in handling chemicals is advantageous. You should be comfortable working at heights and within confined spaces. You must have a great eye for detail, an organised personality, and a thorough work ethic. In addition, you must be trustworthy, and able to work as part of a team. It is advantageous to be a member of the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc).   Most importantly you must enjoy cleaning!

Your main responsibility as a cleaning operative is to deliver a professional service, and to inform your manager when stock must be replenished. Your work must be preventative, in that you must report all health and safety issues whenever possible. You should be willing to undertake training as and when it is required.

You will need to follow all method statements and risk assessments for cleaning tasks in order to ensure that you are working in a safe manner at all times. All operatives are responsible for logging their own working hours through our time-logging process.
